That’s why we’re exploring a new vaccine.
In this study, researchers are testing an investigational pneumococcal vaccine. Pneumococcal disease is any infection caused by bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae which causes serious illness, like pneumonia.
The current vaccine options do not prevent all types of pneumococcal infections. Therefore, there is a need for additional research of pneumococcal vaccines.
